Jimmy got his sorghum picture just in time. We chopped silage all week and this field is now clear.86-365-0902-

Flag football began Tuesday night. LOVE IT! Let me count the ways: 1) It wears Jimmy out. 2) He loves it. 3) It’s a GREAT motivational tool. 4) The volunteer coaches do a fantastic job teaching the kids the fundamentals of the game. 5) It wears Jimmy out!87-365-0903 flag FB

Our redneck version of a foam pit – the silage pile! The big kids can’t wait to get home from school and get a few jumps in (completely safe and supervised). Jake hasn’t worked his courage up to jump out of the loader yet.

Tried out a lighting exercise* I’ve had on the “to do” list. My kids were busy playing with friends and I’ve been wanting to challenge myself in terms of different lighting. As much as I loathe pictures of myself and feel ridiculous taking them of myself, I was the only one willing to take direction.

(*If you’re so inclined, here’s more about the garage light exercise, except I was in our barn.)89-365-0905 barn light-

I heard the boys long before I went to check on them Saturday morning. Why didn’t I check? Because they were getting along. Like, for a LONG time! Their conversations were fantastic and I hated to break the moment by peeking in. This is what I was left with.

  1. Jaimi! Loved seeing these glimpses into your life this week. Great work on your garage light series. I really love the lighting in the bottom center one – you nailed the rembrandt triangle! And the one of your son in front of the crops is just beautiful.

  2. You had a fantastic week. Your sorghum photo blows me away…the light, leading lines, composition. I’m a huge fan of the blend of landscape/lifestyle and you nailed it!

  3. Jaimi these are gorgeous! I love your lighting experiment, the jumping photo is awesome! I wouldnt be able to jump from that high though! awesome!

  4. jaimi, i’m right there with you when it comes to selfies. I feel so transparent in front of the camera and afraid to stare into the lens. Taking a photo with other people is another thing. Again, love the images of your life on the farm, especially the sorghum image. I would love to see you lying on the silage pile shooting up or at the top shooting down as they do their jumps! So fun!
