Kids Were Here

The kids received window crayons for Christmas and, until this week, this was my daughter’s bedroom window. I’m a little sad she washed it off. It has been such a fun, colorful reminder of her favorite things.KWH 0314-6200

An all out war was waged next to my computer for several days. While I was busy working on cattle sale catalogs, Jake kept himself occupied and kept me giggling at his “pretend” fighting. They’re kind of a bugger to step on, though.

I came into our living room to find all the leftover balloons from Jimmy’s birthday party lined up ever so neatly between the back of our couch and the window. Now, why can’t the boys keep their room this neat and orderly?KWH 0314 balloons

Ever since our production sale a few weeks ago, Jake has been obsessed with playing auction. This is his usual set up. It is fairly accurate to the set up in our barn for the real sale! This particular day, he had a pickup and trailer backed up to the alley, ready for a quick load-out. Notice the pallet he used to make sure the cattle don’t run out beside the trailer. I also had to giggle and the line-up of Hot Wheels cars. I’ve never witnessed such fancy cars at our bull sale!KWH 0314 auction-8375KWH 0314 auction

Please follow the circle around to Jessica Thomason’s blog, where you can see more photographic evidence that kids were here.

The idea for this stemmed from a project by Ketti Phillips to document little elements around her house showing her children’s presence without showing them. It was a  study in seeking the small details that tell so much. A small group of her friends began the blog linked at left. Click on the photo and check it out.
