Kids Were Here | September

Thank you for turning the refrigerator off four days ago, Jacob. While, yes, mommy did need to clean the refrigerator, this was not what I had on today’s agenda. Your method, while effective, is not appreciated.

On the bright side, knowing that everything must be thrown is a much quicker way to clean the fridge versus the usual internal dialogue of “is this really bad or can we eat it yet?”

I love this old horse swing my in-laws have at their house.

The kids found a wayward turtle and decided to make him a wonderful home (left). He was last seen crawling out of the back of a Tonka truck he wrecked after hijacking it (at right) to bust out of the meticulously constructed stick fence.

Please follow the circle around to Lauren Sanderson’s blog, where you can see more photographic evidence that kids were here.

The idea for stemmed from a project by Ketti Phillips to document little elements around her house showing her children’s presence without showing them. It was a  study in seeking the small details that tell so much. A small group of her friends began the blog linked at left. Click on the photo and check it out.

  1. I love these Jaimi! And I want to live at your in-laws! That swing is beautiful. I too love the stories with your images. I can tell there is never a dull moment!
