Black Hills Family Ski Weekend
We couldn’t have been blessed with better weather to sneak away to the Hills before the we get really busy on the ranch having baby calves. 60º+ weather while skiing=AWESOME weekend!
As the sun set east of Pierre (less than 100 miles from home – 200+ miles to go), we heard the first “Are we there yet?” from the back seat. We were all happy to finally get to the hotel and relax in in bed with pizza.
We were ready when the lifts opened at Terry Peak. The older two picked skiing right back up from our last trip a few years ago.Brady and I took turns going up and down the bunny slope trying to teach Jake to ski. We finally broke down and bought a ski tie to clip the tips of his skis together. Best $10 spent all weekend.
Jake finally made it to the top of the mountain!!! His face says it all – so proud!
“Yo, Dad. What happened to you?” He, he. This is one of those times I’m really glad I’m the one behind the camera.
Brothers. Still smiling at the end of the day.
If eight hours of skiing didn’t tire them out, two hours in the pool should do it.
Ready for some serious tubing Sunday morning over at Ski Mystic (Deer Mountain).
We’ve had our family fun. Bring on calving season!
