Step .01

Scheduling

I suggest at least penciling in a date as soon as possible to ensure you get your first choice of season, date, time, etc. I prefer shooting in the “golden hour” (early evening, several hours prior to sunset) as the natural light is most flattering that time of day.

Think about the outfits you want to wear and location(s) that complement that vision. Maybe you want an urban vibe or that classic country look. I always encourage clients to pick a place that has a little bit of green so we can mix things up a little. Another tip is to think of an activity you like to do. Get creative!

What about the weather?

We can ALWAYS reschedule! I would always rather have the perfect conditions for photos.

STEP .02

Session Day

Session day can be stressful and exciting, but I promise there is nothing to be nervous about! All I ask is that you come prepared, say open-minded, and trust that I will take care of the rest.

  • Plan outfits
  • Confirm your session payment
  • Bring water, snacks, etc.
  • Confirm session time and starting location.

You May Be Wondering….

Have a question about your experience? I’ve got an answer! And if you don’t see your
question here, please reach out via email: jaimi@lammersdesign.com or text 605-870-0602.

I prefer to travel to you. I find that people are more relaxed when they are in a familiar setting. Plus, then I get to see some pretty awesome places!

South Dakota weather can be, well, the s$@!s. I space my sessions on my calendar to allow wiggle room for weather postponements. I watch the forecast before sessions (ranch wife here – we’re always watching the weather at our house!) I’ll be in contact with you prior to the session and we won’t force a session during wind or rain.

Don’t worry, we will get your photos taken even if its not on the first scheduled date!

There is no additional charge for including extended family in a session. However, I do run those shoots a bit differently. In a small family shoot, we focus more on the family unit while also do some fun individual pictures of each child while also changing locations a few times.

In an extended family session, we include grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. The focus is more on getting the group as a whole and often we don’t have the time (or attention span of the littles!) to focus on the smaller family units. Besides—you’d rather be spending this time enjoying all the cousins, right?!?!

I’m on my third Canon body. Currently, I shoot with a 5D Mark IV and a variety of lenses. My favorite lens is my Tamron 70-200 and resides on my camera 99% of the time.

I don’t put a time or outfit limit on my sessions. While I do try to keep a session moving along. I am a firm believer in allowing the session and client dictate when we finish shooting the images they love.

Absolutely!!! Those animals are a BIG part of your life. I’d love to find a creative way to include them in family and senior portraits.

Nope – but i strongly encourage printing somewhere!! Your memories are too important to stay on a device and possibly be lost or destroyed.

Prints are available to purchase through your gallery or you may print at a consumer lab of your choice. I offer a variety of products not listed online and am happy to work with you to determine the best option to display your images!

Yes! I love photographing people in their element. Mileage applies out of my local area.
