My 365 | Week 34
2.16.14 – 2.22.14
A macro shot of one of the roses my sweetie gave me for Valentine’s day.
40°-plus temps for the first time in I don’t remember!!!! I snuck in a car wash during my lunch break.
We warmed up to over 50°! WOOHOO!!!! Although I put the kids to work in the barn helping get ready for the bull sale immediately after school, I couldn’t let them totally miss out on beautiful weather before dark.
When the puppy started whining in the wee morning hours, I was not impressed. She’s been excellent at sleeping all night. I was relieved when Brady got up with her. But here’s where I got real lucky that it was him who got up – he is WAY more observant in the middle of the night than I am. When he came back to bed he commented, “Those lights are really going tonight!” Darnit anyway. I couldn’t resist. I hopped out of bed and sure enough – they were gorgeous! I could just see the tops of the lights dancing above the tree line that runs on the northern edge of all our barns and close cattle pens to block the wind and weather. I fired my diesel up and drove west down our section line to get around it. Oh my – so worth it!!
Jim has bubble blowing perfected.
I took a walk through the bull pen on sale-eve.
I had a hard time deciding on just one picture from our bull sale. This shot makes me smile every time. I just love that these three farm girls were so into the sale; paying attention to every lot as it sold. It does my soul good to see kids interested in agriculture.
The part that makes me giggle about this is the contrast from this weekend to next. The girls are all dance buddies as well. Next weekend is their recital and they will be dressed much differently!
