March snow

While the “principal/PE teacher” took the students out to tag calves for their afternoon physical activity [we are on day four of “flexible learning” due to the COVID-19 virus break from school], I dug out my macro extension tubes and out to play during the spring snow that fell in gentle, puffy flakes this afternoon.

My tulips broke through the ground a week or so ago yet I am still holding on a planter full of Christmas greens and pine cones decorating the front door, too! Both made a beautiful backdrop for the snowflakes. I’m thankful we’re reached the time of year that the snow melts almost as soon as it hits the ground.

Every gardener knows that under the cloak of winter lies a miracle…A seed waiting to sprout, a bulb opening to the light, a bud straining to unfurl. And the anticipation nurtures our dream.
